Top 5 products for April

These are the products that have gotten me through the month of April. Some I've used for a few months and some I just started using this month. Hope you enjoy.

#5: Clean and Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer
I really like this product because my skin is so overly dry and being in New Mexico having a really good moisturizer is key. I also like that there is an spf 15 in the moisturizer because it cuts back on one step for me in the morning and being fair skinned it's so important to wear sunscreen all year round. Also, I like the light glow that I get when I apply this, and at a drug store price, you can't beat this product.

#4: Heel to Toe Feels Like New Softener
I picked this up at Sally's on sale this month (shocking, right?) A lot of my customers swear by it and of course that meant I had to try it out myself (I do not feel good recommending a product that I've never used or know nothing about), and I instantly fell in love with it. How I apply it is by just taking a bit in my hand and rubbing it on my heels and then putting on a pair of socks because it does tend to get slippery and I'm a klutz to begin with. I recommend applying it at night right before you go to bed so it can really soak into your skin. Definitely a product to have on hand in the summer.

#3: MAC Painterly Paint Pot
This has become my go to eyeshadow base for loose eye shadows and pigments. For some reason I just really like how pigments apply on top of it, probably because it's a bit sticky so the pigments stick to it really well. I normally use shadow insurance by too faced for my pressed eye shadows, but when it comes to pigments, MAC's painterly paint pot is by far my favorite.

#2 BareMinerals Prime Time
I can not explain how much I LOVE this product. It is so amazing. I just apply a little bit on my skin before I apply my moisturizer and it totally evens out my skin. It feels in pores and just makes my skin feel so smooth and ready for make up application. I also dot a bit on my lips before applying lipstick and it's fantastic. A+ in my opinion.

#1 Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
Another highly recommended product from my custs' at Sally's. I will never use another top coat. I'm a nail tech and even I can't sit still and wait for my nails to dry. I put this on about 10 minutes after I polish my nails and they are instantly dry. This product is just so amazing.

I hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you in May.

Review: i-Skin Intelligent Microdermabrasion System

Review:
I work at Sally Beauty Supply so a lot of my reviews are going to be products that I've purchased from there. My most recent beauty buy was the i-Skin Intelligent Microdermabrasion System that retails for $34.99 ($32.99 if you have a beauty club card). I've only been using this system for few days now and I am already in love with it. The application is so easy and you really can't beat that price considering the Clarisonic Skin Care Brush from Sephora retails for $195. So, in the package you get the actual i-Skin system, two sponge applicatiors, and the i-Skin crystal microdermabrassion creme. The creme is really granulated so even if you have sensitive skin like I do, this system wont cause irritation. The sponges are also really nice, but keeping them clean is key in not spreading bacteria and making sure you get full use out of the whole system. I keep my sponges clean by gently wipping them with my beyond belief make up remover pads, they're gentle enough for your face so they won't damage the applicators. I have been using the i-Skin system since Thursday and I've already noticed a difference in my complexion and the application of my make up. So far I've used it every day since I've purchased it and I've had no irritaion which is surprising because my skin is extremely sensitive. After the first week I'll probably go from using it every day to every other day, and then after a couple of weeks I'll probably use it every two to three days.

How I use the i-Skin system:
I only use the i-Skin system at night so my face has time to heal and grow back new skin cells and all that good stuff. What I do first is take my make up off with beyond belief facial cleansing and make up remover towlettes. Then, I wash my face with beyond belief vita c splash off face wash. Next, I take a little bit of the microdermabrasion creme and put it on the sponge applicatior brush, then I take a bit of the creme and dot it all over my face. Then, I turn on the brush and starting at the jawline I work little circles up my face for about 3 minutes. When I'm done, I clean off the brush with another towlette and use the other side to clean off all the excess creme from face. But like I said, I've only been using this product for a few days and my regime may change but for now this is working just fine for me.

At the bottom of this page I'm also going to post a link to the Sally Beauty Supply website so you can see all the reviews that everyone's posted about the i-Skin system.

I hope this was helpful.

Review: Sephora Color Play Palette/Mini MAC haul

I made a trip to Sephora and MAC the other day with my mom and I picked up a few thing.
At Sephora I picked this up:

(with flash)

It's the Sephora Color Play Palette. It was on sale for $22 which is a pretty good deal. It comes with 36 eyeshadows, 12 lip glosses, 2 blushes, and a bronzer. The color payoff is really good for the money and I'm excited about the bronzer. The blush colors are really pretty pink shades and are perfect for the summer. The eyeshadows range from neutral browns and highlight colors to a few more funky colors. I haven't really had a chance to use the lip glosses but I've swatched a few of them and the color payoff seems to be okay, although I never really use lip glosses from palettes because I can't transport them with me. All in all it's a pretty good palette and even if I only use the blushes and the bronzer I'm getting my moneys worth.

I also did a mini MAC haul because I had enough to get three free products from all my MAC empties. I normally get eyeshadows with my back2mac's, but I was in the mood for some lipsticks. I got lollipop loving, politely pink, and myth. Lollipop loving is by far my favorite. I also picked up springsheen blush and honour blush. Honour is so pretty as a highlight color or as a bronzer for someone who is as pastey as me.

Good haulage :)

Things I use daily.

This is just a look inside my brush case. It also includes my bare minerals foundations, eyeshadow primers, foundation primers, and moisturizers. It's nothing too exciting, just the things that I use on a daily basis.

Right now I'm living in boxes because I'm in the process of moving, so my make up is scattered all over the place. Hopefully before I move I'll be able to update LOTD's, reviews, hauls, and all that good stuff, even if it's on a smaller scale, just to get this blog rolling. I'm really looking forward to documenting all my beauty finds, opinions, reviews, and everything else.
